“The infrared spectrum of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane gas has been examined in the frequency range $50cm-1$ to $1500cm-1$. The lowest frequency bands are centered about $120cm-1$, $225cm-1$, and $350cm-1$. The lowest frequency band contour is consistent with that to be expected for the torsional oscillation arising from a barrier to internal rotation of 4.2 keals per mole.
