Abstract

The Institute of Polar Studies at The Ohio State University was formally organized on February 12, 1960, by a unanimous vote on a recommendation of the Faculty Council during the 945th meeting of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees. This report is a brief history of the Institute of Polar Studies at The Ohio State University until 1969. The report includes the formation of the institute, the purpose and structure, the Constitution, information about then current faculty members, funding and future plans.
