Abstract
Barbara Saddler obtained a political science degree from Wilberforce University and a Master's degree in Black Studies from The Ohio State University. As a graduate research assistant in the Department of Black Studies for then-Chairman William E. Nelson Jr., she conducted surveys of various cities on black leadership in those communities. She also served as a graduate teaching assistant. After she earned her master's degree, she went on to work for AEP in its Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps low-income residents pay their electric bills. Saddler is a longtime fan of OSU basketball and football, and she has interacted over the years with many coaches and players on the teams, as well as the Marching Band. She also has been a longtime member of the Buckeye Boosters.
