Abstract

Oka detected the infrared absorption spectrum of H+3 in a hydrogen discharge using a difference frequency laser.1 In similar experiments, We report the observation of the HeH+,20NeH+ and 22NeH+ fundamental vibration-rotation bands of the X1Σ+ state. Some of the Observed molecular constants are (incm−1,3σuncertainties): υ0B0D0B1D1HeH+2910.9568(19)33.55841(63)0.016210(37)30.83991(54)0.015869(31)20NeH+2677.8564(13)17.33821(28)0.002692(15)16.25525(33)0.002669(17)22NeH+2672.4971(15)17.26369(32)0.002664(19)16.18774(41)0.002641(20) The possibility of astrophysical detection of HeH+ will be discussed.
