Abstract

The second interesting feature of propargyl alcohol is that it has two strong, high frequency normal modes allowing access to regions of high bath state density. Here we present spectra in the 3 $\mu$m region which contains the acetylenic C-H stretch and the O-H stretch. The assignment of these spectra, which is necessary for the study of the intramolecular vibrational dynamics (IVR), relies on the results of the low frequency region studies presented in part I. The vibrational dynamics in the two different vibrational states are compared. We will also discuss the vibrational dynamics of the combination bands accessed by sequential excitation through the previously measured 9 $\mu$m $C-O$ stretch band.
