Abstract

The infrared spectra of the solid, liquid and gas phases of $S P C l 2 F$ and $S P C l F 2$ have been measured from 33 to $4000 c m −1$ . The Raman spectra of the liquids have been recorded and depolarization values measured. Assignment of the fundamental vibrations based on band type, position and depolarization values will be presented. The far infrared spectrum of $S P C l 2$ has been recorded and the data will be compared to that given for the other two molecules.
