Abstract

When a Ne: BF3 sample is codeposited at approximately 5 K with a beam of neon atoms that has been excited in a microwave discharge, all three vibrational fundamentals and the (ν1+ν3) combination band of BF2 are identified. The $ \nu $3 absorption of BF2+ is also present. The positions of these absorptions are close to those obtained in recent {ab initio} calculations.1 Other new absorptions can be assigned to BF3+, which photodissociates in the red spectral region.
