Abstract

The microwave spectrum of 2,2-difluoro-1-methylcyclopropane has been studied in the range 8-38 gHz. Both ground and first excited methyl torsional states were assigned, and from splittings of the latter, the barrier to internal rotation was found to be $2260 \pm 150$ calories/mole. The dipole moment components are $|\mu_{a}| = 2.03 D, |\mu_{e}| =1.19 D$, and $|\mu_{e}| = 0.31 D$.
