Abstract

Silicon clusters were prepared by laser vaporization and observed by FTIR in neon, argon, and krypton matrices at 4 K. Vibrational frequencies in the 400−600cm−1 region were assigned to Si3−Si7 on the basis of isotopic satellites and ab initio calculations of frequencies and relative intensities.1
