Abstract

We have recently completed a series of measurements studying the temperature dependence of water vapor absorption in the $10\,\mu m$ region using a frequency stabilized $CO_{2}$ laser in conjunction with both a differential spectrophone and a 15 meter White cell. This work was performed with both pressure broadened and pure water vapor samples over a temperature range from $15^{\circ}$ C to $28^{\circ}$ C. Recent work in the study of temperature dependence for the water vapor continuum in the $8-12\,\mu m$ window are compared with those results and a new improved model is given.
