Abstract

The repeated use verbatim of "boiler plate" background material in Ohio contract archaeology reports is documented. The material was originally developed by the Ohio Historical Society's contract archaeology department but was subsequently lifted without acknowledgement by various private firms in Ohio and used in their reports.
