Abstract

CFCI2 and CF2CI Radicals were observed between 365-410 nm using resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization specetroscopy. Both spectra were generated by two-photon resonances with planar 3p Rydberg states. A third laser photon ionized the radicals. The CF2CI spectrum displayed a vibrational progression assigned to the out-of-plane bending ν4(b1)(OPLA) mode (ω4=745cm−2), with the origin at 406.2 rim (ν0−o=49,230cm−1), Assignments for the CFCl2 radical included the ν4(h1)OPLA(ω4=590(20)cm−1) and the ν3(a1)CCl2 scissors (ω2=270(30)cm−1) modes, with the origin at 401.1nm(ν0−0=49,850cm−1)
