Knowledge Bank

The infrared spectra of $\gamma$-irradiated thymine dimer solutions have been measured between 4000 and $300cm-1$. The conditions of these experiments were varied to determine the reaction mechanism of dimer cleavage. Preliminary results indicate that glucose plays an important role in dimer destruction.
