Abstract

The infrared spectrum of beryllium chloride vapor has been measured from 2000 to 200cm−1. The vibrations of the linear triatomic molecule BeCl2 are assigned as v3=1113 cm−1 and v2=484 cm−1. Several vibrations of the polymeric species present in the vapor in equilibrium with the liquid have been measured.
