Abstract

The rigid-bender vibration-rotation Hamiltonian has been used to give a new assignment of the Raman spectrum of the low frequency bending vibration in disiloxane. In this model the dependence of the reduced mass for bending motion and of the tensor of inertia on the large amplitude coordinate is given explicitly. The barrier to linearity and the equilibrium angle for ($SiH_{3})_{2} O$ are $86.07 cm^{-1}$ and $27.77^{\circ}$, respectively.
