Abstract

A computerized coherent Raman spectrometer is used to record CARS and CSRS spectra near a one photon resonance. A complete line shape analysis of the digital data can lead to a determination of the real and imaginary parts of the third order susceptibility which govern the coherent processes. A linear regression analysis which takes into account all cross terms formulated and applied to the resonance enhanced Raman modes. A silicon intensified target vidicon is used for detection of spontaneous Raman spectra of these compounds, and these spectra are compared with the CARS and CSRS spectra. These techniques are used for the fundamental and overtone transitions observed in potassium permanganate and potassium dichromate.
