Abstract

Spectra of the $^{12}CH_{4}$ and $^{13}CH_{4}\upsilon_{2}$ and $\upsilon_{4}$ fundamental bands have been obtained using a Fourier transform spectrometer with an unapodized resolution of $0.04 cm^{-1}$. In addition to room temperature data at 296K, spectra were obtained with a cooled absorption cell at 150K and 200K. Nitrogen were used as broadening gases, and intensities and half-widths of individual lines measured. In addition, a comparison of the rotational structure of the bands observed at 150K, 200K, and 296K is presented, noting especially the changes in the contribution to the structure from the large number of weak lines often referred to as ""interlopers"".
