Abstract

The fundamental band of $C_{2}H_{6}$ at $822\;cm^{-1}$ has been analyzed using new spectra taken with the UT grating Instrument $(\Delta \nu = 0.04 - 0.05\;cm^{-1})$, and the UT and LASL interferometric instruments $(\Delta \nu = 0.125 - 0.500\;cm^{-1}$ and $\Delta \nu = 0.040\;cm^{-1}$, respectively). We have obtained the following preliminary values of excited state constants: \begin{eqnarray*} \nu_{0}&=&821.738\;cm^{-1}\\ \alpha_{9}^{B}&=&(B^{\prime\prime}-B^{\prime})=+1.29\times 10^{-3}\;cm^{-1}\\ \alpha_{9}^{A}&=&(A^{\prime\prime}-A^{\prime})=-7.5\times 10^{-3}\;cm^{-1}\\ \zeta_{9}^{Z}&=&+0.259\\ q_{9}{^{(+)}}&=&-1.8\times 10^{-3}\;cm^{-1}\\ \end{eqnarray*} In this analysis we used improved ground state parameters obtained from GSCD fits of the $\nu_{9} + \nu_{12}$ band by Blass and Lin, These constants will be presented in another paper at this meeting.
