Abstract
In seeking for "effect of interviewer" one cannot forget that, presumably, also
reciprocal effect - that of respondent on interviewer occurs. In this paper I make
use of data coming from the 1994 research on deviant behaviors among youth.
Results of correlational analyses reveal certain patterns of association between answers
given by respondents and some variables that identify attitudes of interviewers.
It shows that interviewers, in fact, change their views on the questions included
in the questionnaire as well as they modify expectations concerning answers
given by respondents. Author asserts that these changing attitudes and
expectations may be transmitted from one respondents to the others what results
in "secondary" interviewer effect". This suggests that bias due to the "effect of interviewer"
has broader underpinnings than it was established by now.
