Abstract
Previous Hanle effect measurements on $NO_{2}$ gave anomalous $g^\tau$ values where g and $\tau$ describe the magnetic moment and the lifetime of the excited $state^{1}$ In this study we measure the g-value directly. We find that the g-value of each hyperfine component behaves normally at low laser intensity. At high laser intensity an additional structure appears in the double resonance signal. This work strongly suggests that the radiative lifetime measured previously and the value of $\tau$ in the Hanle effect are different, even at pressures in the sub-millitorr range.
