Abstract

The $\nu_{4} (A_{1} - A_{1})$ parallel band at $692 cm^{-1}$ together with its strongest ``hot’’ band, $\nu_{4} + \nu_{8} - \nu_{8}$, (E - E) were measured using our high resolution grating spectrometer equipped with a helium cooled Cu: Ge detector. The working resolution is close to $0.030 cm^{-1}$ and the standard deviation of the measured frequencies $\pm$ $3 \times 10^{-3}$ $cm^{-1}$. The molecular constants $\nu_{0}$, $B^{\prime}$, $B^{\prime}^{\prime}$, $D_{J}^{\prime}$, and $D_{J}^{\prime}^{\prime}$ were obtained with good accuracy. For example the standard deviation on the B is about $3 \times 10^{-5}$ $cm^{-1}$. The K structure is resolved. INFRARED BANDS OF HCNO
