Abstract
A survey will be given of the asymmetric rotator centrifugal distortion constants which are associated with the sixth-power angular-momentum-component terms of the vibration-rotation Hamiltonian. For the case of most immediate experimental interest, viz., that of the non-linear XYX triatomic molecule, the centrifugal distortion constants have been calculated explicitly in terms of the fundamental molecular structure constants. The Nielsen-Amat expansion of the vibration-rotation Hamiltonian was used for this calculation.
