Abstract
The vibrational spectrum of 1-bromo-1-chloro-1-fluoroethane has been examined as a part of a study of the vibrational modes of chiral molecules. Infrared spectra of the solid and gas phases and Raman spectra of solid, liquid and gas phases have been recorded. A vibrational assignment supported by a normal coordinate analysis and infrared band contours will be proposed. Comparison with our previous vibrational analysis of bromochlorofluoromethane will be discussed.
