Abstract

The infrared spectrum of NO2F has been investigated in the region from 2−25μ by means of infrared prism spectrometers. Twenty-seven absorption bands have been observed, including five of the six fundamental vibrations. The spectrum can be interpreted on the basis of the planer structure with C2v symmetry given by the microwave studies,1 and bands can almost all be identified from the band contours.
