Abstract

Due to their importance in the study of the earth’s stratosphere, the spectra of CO2 and N2O occurring in the 5.3 μ region have been measured using a high resolution spectrometer. An analysis of the vibration-rotation bands occurring in this region along with the appropriate molecular constants will be presented. Several previously unreported features in the spectrum of N2O have been observed and will be discussed.
