Abstract

The Fourier transform spectra of ammonia, $^{14}NH_{3}$, have been measured in the 2-3 im region with $0.005 cm^{-1}$ resolution. The $\nu_{1}, \nu_{3}, 2\nu_{4}, \nu_{1} + \nu_{2}+ \nu_{3}$, and $\nu_{2}+2\nu_{4}$ bands have been assigned and analyzed. Among them, the $\nu_{2}+\nu_{2}$ bands have been assigned for the first time. The band origins for the $\nu_{2}+2\nu_{4}$ symmetrical and antisymmetrical parallel bands are $4115.62 cm^{-1}$ and $4173.25 cm^{-1}$ respectively. These band origins differ from the calculated values (1). The band origins for the symmetrical antisymmetrical perpendicular bands are also found at $4135.94 cm^{-1}$ and $4193.14 cm^{-1}$ respectively.
