Abstract

The Raman line shapes of the ν1(A1) C-H stretching fundamental have been measured as a function of pressure and temperature in CHF3 within the density range of 0.94 to 1.44g/cm3 and the temperature range from 273K to 373K . The reorientational and vibrational relaxation times, the corresponding correlation functions, are calculated and interpreted in terms of current theoretical models. The relative VV and VH peak shifts are of particular interest.
