Abstract
The Raman spectra of fused $AlCl_{3}- NaCl$, $AlBr_{3}-NaBr_{1}$ and $ALI_{3}-NaI$ systems have been recorded at various mole ratios. The nature of the molecular species present in the region 50-50 mole percent $Alx_{3}-NaX$ to pure $Al_{2} X_{6}$ has been investigated. In particular, Raman lines characteristic of the species $AlX_{4}^{-}$ and $Al_{2} X_{7}^{-}$ have been observed.
