Abstract

The ν9 band of ethane has been studied extensively and line positions and room temperature intensities are well characterized. In this paper we present temperature dependent intensity data on ν9 as well as the torsional hot band ν9+ν4ν4. .This work is concentrated in wavelength regions where ν9 of ethane is observable using CO2 laser heterodyne techniques where the hot band intensities are of great interest to astronomers.
