Abstract

Coherence spectroscopy in optically detected magnetic resonance has been shown to be useful in the study of molecular interactions and dynamics. An example of such a study is a series of cyclic aliphatic ketones in single crystals of p-dichlorobenzene and p-dibromobenzene. The results indicate that the observed relaxation times reflect a shallow energy surface for cyclohexanone and steeper surfaces for cyclopentanone and cyclohexanedione.
