Abstract

The microwave Spectrum of $\Delta^{6}$ bicyclo(3.2.0.)heptene has been studied in the range 26.5 - 40.0 GHz using a Hewlett-Packard Model 8400C Stark-modulated microwave [FIGURE] spectrometer. The rotational constants have been derived for the ground vibrational State (in MHz: A = 4419.20; B = 3080.16; C = 2375.33) and excited states of the twisting and bending vibrations of the five-membered ring from fitting a-type transitions. Stark effect measurements have yielded the dipole moment components $\mu_{a} = 0.201 \pm 0.001D, \mu_{c} = 0.0519 \pm 0.004$D for a total dipole moment $\mu = 0.208 \pm 0.001$D, The results of preliminary structure calculations will be discussed.
