Abstract

The strengths, self-broadened widths, and foreign gas broadened widths for A, $N_{2}$, and air have been measured for several lines in the 10.4 micron $CO_{2}$ band using the laser $method.^{1}$ The strengths and foreign broadened widths were derived from the transmittance vs. pressure curves assuming a Voigt line-profile. The ratio of line-strength to self-broadened width was determined from the constant transmittance observed for pressures above about $^{1}/_{10}$ atmosphere.
