Abstract

Starting from a recent determination of the potential energy function of the carbon dioxide molecule made by A. Chedin and Z. Cihla using all the available vibration rotation data, we examine the behavior of this force field by drawing energy contour diagrams. Sections of the potential surface are projected on different reference planes.
