Abstract

The purpose of this project is to bring science into practice for persons with Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders in central Ohio and to train the next generation of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals in Evidence Based Medication Practices for this population.

Description

IMPACT. 1: For persons with schizophrenia spectrum disorder Optimize the dosing, method of administration, and use of antipsychotic medication Increase clozapine use to 10% for persons with treatment resistant schizophrenia -- 2. Reduce symptoms and improve quality of life for persons with schizophrenia spectrum disorders to enable them to more completely achieve their personal recovery goals through best medication practice prescribing of antipsychotic medication. -- 3. Physicians, psychiatrists, residents, and other mental health professionals will have knowledge and experience to provide best medication treatment to persons with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Individuals and their families will have increased knowledge for better informed treatment choices and will experience improved quality of life, health and personal recovery.
