Abstract
Analine $h_{7}, N-d_{2}, d_{5}$, and $d_{7}$ were studied using single vibronic level (SVL) fluorescence lifetime measurements. For each excited state the radiative and non-radiative lifetimes and fluorescent quantum yields are obtained. The dependence of the non-radiative lifetime of the excited state as a function of excess energy for analine $h_{7}$ is seen to display behavior similar to that of benzene for states independent of inversion mode excitation. States involving the inversion mode may be treated as a quasi-isolated subset of states, in which case the energy dependence of these states is more conventional. The deuterated compounds provide information regarding the nature of the accepting modes and the triplet state involved in the intersystem crossing. Comparison with the earlier work of Von Weyssenhoff and $Kraus^{1}$ is presented.
