Abstract

Absorption line parameters including self and nitrogen broadening coefficients of seventeen $H_{2} O$ lines, Q branch lines for the $CO_{2}$ bands $(10^{0} 0 - 01^{1} 0), (01^{1} 0 - 00^{0} 0)$ and P and R branch lines from the $CO_{2}$ bands $(00^{0} 1 - 10^{0} 0)$ and $(00^{0} 1 - 02^{0} 0)$ have been measured. One $CO_{2}$ line has been determined to be Lorentzian, within experimental accuracy, to 15 half widths from line center. Many $H_{2} O$ lines are pure rotational lines with large quantum numbers to $2O_{2,18}$ these lines exhibit the expected general narrowing as rotational quantum number increases. Several lines for $CO_{2}$ and $H_{2} O$ have been studied over the temperature range 23 to $110^{\circ}$ C to determine the temperature dependence of the collision cross section.
