Abstract

Iterative natural orbital calculations of the dipole moment functions of the $a^{3}\Pi$ and $A^{1}\Pi$ excited states of carbon monoxide are reported. The calculation for the a-state confirms previous theoretical results and are at variance with the experimental dipole moment function. The A-state function is in accord with experimental estimates.
