Abstract
The previously reported spectrum of the chemically unstable symmetric top chlorostan-$nane^{1}$. $SnH_{3}CI$, has been supplemented with an investigation of the spectra of bromostannane, $SnH_{3}Br$, and iodostannane, $SnH_{3}I$. Analysis of the spectra of nine isotopic species of bromostannane in the region 26.5 - 32.0 GHz, gave a Sn-Br bond length (2.4691 $\pm$ 0.0003 \AA), the centrifugal distortion constant $D_{jk}$ (0.0069 $\pm$ 0.0007 MHz.) and the quadrupole hyper-fine coupling constants $eQq^{79}$ (350 $\pm$ 7 MHz.) and $eQq^{81}$ (291 $\pm$ 7 MHz.). Preliminary analysis of the spectra of the five most abundant isotopic species of iodostannane indicates $D_{JK} = 0.0044$ MHz. and eQq = -1267 MHz.
