Abstract

High and very high resolution infrared spectra of Symmetric top molecules are now available. They show that isolated unperturbed bands are the exception rather than the rule. Weak resonances, generally with localized effects, give interesting information about the vibrational levels involved: some examples, especially from methyl halides, will be discussed. A computer program, treating the simultaneous effect of a great number of resonances, will also be described.
