Abstract
The principal, ethane absorption in the $1940 - 2150\;cm^{-1}$ region is due to $\nu_{9} + \nu_{12}$; the band is perturbed and our analysis will be discussed. We have determined improved ground state parameters front a combination difference analysis: \begin{eqnarray*} B_{O}&=&(663\;065.8 \pm 1.8)\times 10^{-6}\;cm^{-1}\\ D_{O}^{J}&=&(1035.0\pm1.9)\times 10^{-9}\;cm^{-1}\\ D_{O}^{JK}&=&(4697.\pm 30.)\times 10^{-9}\;cm^{-1}\\ H_{O}^{KKJ}&=&(17.02\pm 0.29)\times 10^{-9}\;cm^{-1}\\ \end{eqnarray*} The stated error limits are standard errors; the more realistic 99\% confidence limits are 12 times the stated standard deviations.
