Abstract
New high resolution absorption spectrograms of the nitrogen molecule have been obtained from $1250 {\AA}$ employing path lengths of up to 20 meter-atomspheres. The following systems have been identified: (1) $A^{3}\Sigma^{+}_{u}\leftarrow X^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g} (v^{\prime}=6.7,8.9); (2) B^{3}\Pi_{g}\leftarrow X^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g}(v^{\prime}=0.1): (3) B^{13}\Sigma^{-}_{n}\leftarrow X^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g} (v^{\prime}=0$ to 9); (4) a $^{\prime 1}\Sigma^{-}_{u}\leftarrow X^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g} (v^{\prime}=0$ to 8); and $a^{\prime}\Pi_{g}\leftarrow X^{\prime}\Sigma^{+}_{g} (v^{\prime}=0$ to 6). The detailed analyses of these systems will be discussed.
