Abstract

Vibrational fundamentals of $PCl_{3}$, $PBr_{3}$ and other trihalides of the $XY_{3}$ type have been measured in the spectral region of wavelengths 30$\mu$. The band locations are presumably more precise than those obtained earlier using Raman data. Data have been obtained for $SbBr_{3}$ which has heretofore not been measured. The accuracy of locating the band contour centers varies from $0.5 cm^{-1}$ to rather better. Experimental details and such theoretical interpretation as can be attempted on the basis of the present extent of the data are given.

Description
