Abstract

The vapor phase spectra of $T_{2} O$ and TCN have been studied in the region 400 to $5000 cm^{-1}$. A single beam double-pass spectrometer was used with prisms of LiF, NaC1, and KBr. The fundamentals $\nu_{2}$ and $\nu_{3}$ were measured in $T_{2}O$. Small quantities of the H and D substituted species were produced by exchange, and $\nu_{2}$ and $\nu_{3}$ were observed for THO and $\nu_{3}$ for the TDO molecule. The three fundamentals of TCN were measured. Anharmonicity corrections and zero -order frequencies have been computed, and will be discussed. The techniques employed for the synthesis and handling of the tritiated samples will also be presented.
