Abstract
The effect of vibration-rotation interaction on spectral line intensities is treated semiclassically. The close analogy to the quantum treatment is emphasized and the corresponding Herman-Wallace factors for the fundamental and first three overtone bands are in complete agreement. This work was supported through grant A6025 from the National Research Council of Canada.
