Knowledge Bank

We have remeasured the $Co2$ Q branch head in the $618cm-1$ band with a tunable diode laser system having improved photometric accuracy. We are using a 1 mater White cell whose absorption path may be adjusted to 100 meters. We are investigating in detail the absorption in the window between the Q and R branch. Preliminary results indicate excellent agreement between experimental data and calculations at low to moderate pressure dear line centers, while at pressures near one atmosphere there is some disagreement between the calculations and experimental results. These results will be discussed.
