Abstract
The results of some preliminary study of carbonyl containing compounds absorbed on alumina is reported. Initially, adsorption isotherms of these compounds from solution were characterized. The concentration of the solution was adjusted for maximum coverage on the alumina. The adsorbed molecules were then optically pumped and surface emission was monitored. Results of the optically detected magnetic resonance studies indicate that information regarding possible orientation might be obtained by this technique.
