Abstract

In order to enhance the Raman scattering from gases it is customary to use some form of multi-pass optical arrangement such as a linear resonator (between external sphere and laser output mirror) or an off-axis spherical resonator. The resultant signal enhancement for these optical resonators will range anywhere from 5x to 15x depending on the exact method employed. A new optical accessory will be described which can produce an enhancement of fifty over that of a single-pass spectrum.
