Abstract

“The pure rotational Raman spectra of iodo-acetylene, cyclopropane and cyclopropane-$d_{6}$, have photographed in the second order of a 21-foot grating. The spectrum of iodo-acetylene was obtained with a gas pressure of 80 mm hg. The resolution achieved was such that it was possible to resolve many of the individual rotational lines and a valve has been obtained for $B_{0}$, the ground state rotational constant. Fur cyclopropane, from the measured values of $B_{0}$, it was possible to obtain a value of tile C--C internuclear distance and a functional relationship between the C--H bond distance and the HCH bond angle.”
