THE ${b^{1}\Sigma^{+}} - {X ^{3}\Sigma^{-}}$ SYSTEM OF SbF

Abstract

Two new band systems of the SbF molecular spectrum have been found in the region 7300-7800 {\AA}. Rotational analysis has shown these systems to belong to the transitions b1Σ+−X(3Σ−)0+ and b1Σ+−X(3Σ−)1. The rotational constants will be presented. The observation of these transitions allows a much better understanding of the previously reported systems in SbF between 2200 and 3200 {\AA}. The relation between these new systems and those previously reported will be discussed.
