Abstract
Recent high resolution laser spectroscopy of solid hydrogen has revealed a great number of sharp spectral lines with intricate structures which reflect a myriad of intermolecular $interactions.^{1}$ We report our attempts to understand these structures from first $principles.^{2}$ In particular, the theory of Harris, Hardy and Berlinsky for $J=1 pairs^{3}$ is generalized to arbitrary J values. Agreement with experimental results will be discussed.
